A total of 1,779,116 citizens with right to vote at parliamentary elections

Skopje, May 11 (MIA) - A total of 1,779,116 citizens have the right to vote at the upcoming early parliamentary elections on June 1, states the concluded Voters' List, which Justice Minister Mihajlo Manevski signed at Sunday's press conference.

"Compared to the 2006 parliamentary elections, the number has increased by 37,667 voters", said Manevski.

He emphasized that 39,165 citizens used their right for insight in the Voters' List, which represents a 160-percent increase compared to 2006.

According to MoI data, 67,191 citizens of the total number of voters are currently working abroad, 1,929 are in prison or remand, whereas 542 have the status of internally displaced persons.

The first election district has 295,917 registered voters, the second-303,120, the third-288,585, the fourth-289,664, the fifth-290,101, and the sixth-311,729.

A copy of the voters' list will be given to the State Election Commission, which should also sign it, in line with the Electoral Code.
