Election convention of "Sun" Coalition for Europe
Skopje, May 10 (MIA) - Social-Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM)-led Coalition for Europe "Sun" presented Saturday the 120 candidates for MPs at the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled on June 1.
SDSM leader and leading candidate in Election District 1, Radmila Sekerinska said in her address that coalition "Sun" is the sun of freedom, friendship and cooperation.
"We knew we could not wait. We are together under the sun, heading towards victory. Today we are together, because experienced and reasonable people have united due to their concern for our country. The goal of coalition 'Sun' is salvation for the Republic of Macedonia", stressed Sekerinska.
According to her, a wise decision in the right time is true patriotism.
"We will bring security to Macedonia within six months through the NATO invitation, and we will obtain European Union accession talks date", stated the SDSM leader.
Liberal Party leader Stojan Andov said the coalition aims at creating conditions for unity among citizens.
"In order to survive, we need strong friendship in the region and worldwide. Macedonia must join NATO this year. Starting from today, we need to build unity and equality, directing all forces towards the European Union", emphasized Andov.
Other leading coalition candidates in the five other election districts - Igor Ivanovski, Jani Makraduli, Zoran Zaev, Tito Petkovski, and Jovan Manasijevski - also addressed the convention.
