Fighting in Baghdad's Sadr City kills 13
Baghdad, May 10 (MIA) - Fighting between Shiite militants and US forces in the Baghdad militia stronghold of Sadr City killed at least 13 people and wounded 77 overnight, security and medical officials said on Saturday.
A medical source at the at Al-Sadr hospital said those killed were all men while there were women and children among the wounded. There was no immediate word from the US military.
Since March 25, US and Iraqi forces have been battling militants, mostly from anti-American Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi Army militia, in the slum district of some two million people. Hundreds of people have been killed.
