Tose Proeski's fans boycott "Porin" awards in Croatia
Zagreb, May 12 (MIA) - Members of Tose Proeski's fan club gathered in front of the Croatian Radio-TV building late Sunday, just before the beginning of the "Porin" award presentation ceremony, in protest of the injustice that organizers have brought to the Macedonian singer, report Croatian media.
"We do not have any statements, this is all we want to tell the public", said bitter fans, who were supported by a number of "Porin" associates, claiming the late Macedonian singer was unjustifiably ignored in the year when he was the most performed musician in Croatia.
"Porin" organizers decided to remember Proeski with a short clip at the last moment.
Singer Jacques Houdek dedicated his "Porin" to Tose, and Miroslav Rus, who won the award for song of the year, performed by Proeski, thanked his manager and a number of other associates.
Tose Proeski won one "Porin", whereas there were no other nominations, because according to organizers, he did not possess Croatian citizenship. However, they did not take into account the album was fully recorded and produced by Croats. Moreover, Edo Maajka, who also does not have Croatian citizenship, won several awards, say Croatian media.
