Second fixed operator "Ontel" launched
Skopje, May 12 (MIA) - Second fixed operator "Ontel" of company On.net, which is owned by Telecom Slovenia, was officially launched on Monday.
The operator will initially offer a package (Denar 990) that includes free unlimited local calls within the Ontel network and 300 free minutes towards the Macedonian Telecommunications network.
On.net director Predrag Cemerikic said at today's press conference they would offer cheaper talks by 15 percent towards mobile operators, and up to 60 percent lower prices for national and international conversations.
By connecting to Ontel, which is free of charge, the dialed number would begin with "51".
Ontel will operate with own telephone exchanges, using the network infrastructure of Macedonian Telecommunications. Ontel services will initially be accessible to Skopje citizens, but will soon be available throughout Macedonia.
Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski stated that increased competition in every segment of economy represents a step forward in upgrading offers and services, but also in reduction of prices.
He expects Ontel to soon enlarge its network at the entire territory, offer even better user packages, thus meeting citizens' needs and enabling development in the telecommunications sector.
