Seminar on Macedonia and NATO in Melbourne
Melbourne, May 16 (MIA) - Macedonia's Ambassador to Australia Viktor Gaber held Thursday seminar-lecture on topic "Republic of Macedonia and NATO Summit in Bucharest" in the Center for Contemporary European Research within the Melbourne University, MIA reports from Australia.
Besides development of Macedonia's relations with NATO and EU, as well as its integration in Euro-Atlantic structures, meeting of criteria for NATO membership, Gaber also referred to embargoes and obstacles in the past 17 years of Macedonia's independence.
He especially focused on the (i)legitimacy of the Greek veto at the NATO Summit in Bucharest, as well as reactions of most significant global factors in this regard.
In this context, he elaborated on the Declaration of Strategic Cooperation between Macedonia and USA in the sectors of security, trade and ties between the countries' peoples as a clear political signal and concrete allied step.
