Turkish Army supports Macedonia's NATO accession

Skopje, May 16 (MIA) - Undersecretary in the Turkish Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Ahmet Turmus stressed at Friday's meeting with host, Macedonian Army (ARM) Deputy-Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Adil Gazafer that Turkey would continue to support Republic of Macedonia in its NATO accession, reads ARM General Staff press release.

Ten generals of the Turkish Armed Forces, who pay a two-day visit to Macedonia, were informed on the new formation structure of ARM, and the level of defense reforms.

Defense Minister Lazar Elenovski and Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Miroslav Stojanovski also met with the Turkish delegation.

Moreover, the delegation is to visit the commemorative room of Kemal Ataturk in Bitola, as well as cultural-historic monuments in Skopje and Ohrid, reads the press release.
