International conference on reforms in cadastre
Skopje, May 16 (MIA) - Presenting current and future reforms in the cadastre is the main goal of Friday's international conference "Reforms In Cadastre", which is being organised by the State Authority for Geodetic Works in Skopje.
Presentations on reforms in the cadastre will be held also by representatives of Slovenian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Albanian cadastres.
- Cadastre's work is one of the key factors for attracting various foreign investors and for improving the economic situation in Macedonia. Therefore, the Government will resume the cadastre reforms in order the deadlines for document issuance to be additionally reduced, said Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski in his opening speech at the conference.
Ljupco Georgievski, director of the State Authority for Geodetic Works, said their goal was to establish 100% inclusion of the real estate cadastre by 2009. - Currently there's 70,5% inclusion, while it is expected to rise to 82% by year's end, stated Georgievski.
Daniel Asplund of the Swiss Embassy said the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation - SIDA has supported and would support Macedonia's cadastre reform, adding he expected the reforms to resume in the future with same intensity.
Dutch Ambassador to Macedonia, Simone Fillipini said that during her 8-month stay in the country, she had met many people and firms which had problem involving their estates, as well as many people who wanted to purchase bigger estates. - Hence, this conference is very useful toward resuming the ongoing reforms in cadastre, she added.
