Andov: Name dispute can be resolved
Ohrid, May 16 (MIA) - The name dispute with Greece can be resolved, Athens cannot propose a name for Macedonia, this is the job of mediator Nimetz, stressed Friday Liberal Party leader Stojan Andov at joint press conference of Sun-Coalition for Europe in Ohrid, including representatives of SDSM, LDP, LP, and New Alternative.
Andov stated that "the last proposal by Nimetz was accepted by everyone in Macedonia, but Prime Minister Gruevski did not say this in Bucharest, claiming a referendum on the name would be scheduled".
"The international name is subject of dispute, not the constitutional. Through the referendum request, we in practice renounce from talks on the international name, which is acceptable for us, Greece, United Nations, NATO and the European Union", claims Andov.
Name talks should resume, said party representatives, who promoted program of coalition "Sun".
