Verdi's Requiem closes Macedonian Opera and Ballet's season
Skopje, June 28 (MIA) - "Requiem" by Giuseppe Verdi will close Saturday evening in Kursumli An the season of Macedonia's Opera and Ballet-MOB, which will be performed by its choir and orchestra under the baton of Josip Sego from Croatia. Soprano Vesna Ginovska-Ilkova, mezzo-soprano Martina Gojceta-Silic from Croatia, tenor Gjorgji Cuckovski and bass Igor Durlovski will star in this musical setting.
"Requiem" hasn't been performed in Macedonia for ten years. However, its fragments were staged four years ago at a commemorative session marking the sudden death of late president Boris Trajkovski.
MOB's 2008 season was most notable by opera "Turandot", the guest performance by famous Russian tenor Galuzin at the May Opera Evenings and the performances of "Raymonda" and "Swan Lake".
