Religious masterpieces from Macedonia to be exhibited in Utrecht's Museum Catharijneconvent
Skopje, November 27 (MIA) - An exhibit of religious masterpieces from Macedonia will be opened in late 2010 in Museum Catharijneconvent in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Ministry of Culture says in a press release.
Icons and invaluable liturgy items, clothes, carvings, manuscripts and terra-cotta icons, will be displayed at the exhibition, which was agreed yesterday by Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska with representatives of the Museum. It aims at presenting Macedonia's religious masterpieces that have never been exhibited in the Netherlands.
Museum Catharijneconvent, one of the leading museums in Europe displaying religious heritage, is situated in the historical heart of Utrecht, in a 15-th century monastery. Its permanent collection comprises of unique historical and art-historical exhibits ranging from the early medieval period to the 21st Century.
