MoFa on Koumoutsakos comment

Skopje, April 16 (MIA) - Comment of Greek MoFA Spokesman George Koumoutsakos that the recommendation by the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for citizens to refrain from travelling to Greece "damages once again the bilateral relations" demonstrates that he is not acquainted with the assessments given by his Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis on the country's security situation, said Elena Dimcova from the MoFA press service.

"Taking into account yesterday's statement by the Spokesman of the Greek MoFA Koumoutsakos, he obviously did not listen to the Parliament's address of Greek PM Karamanlis, who said the security situation in Greece has worsened, whereas security measures would be upped due to the activities by extremists and increasing violence. Therefore the dilemma - is Macedonia the one that spreads misinformation on the situation in Greece, or PM Karamanlis is the one providing such misinformation. Moreover, has the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs misinformed its citizens, when the same advisory were given by the US, British, Australian and other countries' authorities to their citizens", stressed Dimcova.
