Economy Ministry presents Industrial Policy 2009-2020
Skopje, July 3 (MIA) - Economy Ministry presented Friday a strategic document for pro-active industrial policy titled "Industrial Policy of Republic of Macedonia 2009-2020".
The document is an action plan that focuses on realization of development priorities and creation of competitive economy that affirms country's human, material and natural potentials.
"Industrial Policy of Republic of Macedonia 2009-2020 is one of the crucial documents of integrated policy that leads towards increase of long-term competitiveness of economy based on knowledge, innovation and generally accepted vision, good coordination among institutions, as well as defining the key areas for intervention through concrete measures", said Economy Minister Fatmir Besimi at Friday's promotion.
According to him, this is a strategic document that draws the path of Macedonia's economic development, so that the country is ready to become a successful member of the European market.
Pertaining to the successful implementation of industrial policy, a ministers' competitiveness committee comprised of ten ministers, chaired by the Vice Premier for Economic Affairs, will be established, supported by an inter-agency expert group.
The World Bank-funded document was developed by the Economy Ministry, in cooperation with Slovenian consultants, in line with EU recommendations and policies.
