Minister Ivanovski at GAID Steering Committee meeting
Skopje, February 9 (MIA) - Minister for Information Society Ivo Ivanovski took part Monday at the meeting of the Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Development (GAID) Steering Committee in New York, reads Ministry press release.
The meeting brought together representatives from ICT companies and ministers. Minister Ivanovski is a Steering Committee member, one of the 20 appointed by the UN Secretary-General.
Meeting participants reviewed the GAID program and declaration on the right for Internet access in today's information societies, initiatives for ICT development at a global level, as well as preparations for the coming annual GAID meeting in Shanghai.
Upon the proposal of Minister Ivanovski, Macedonia was elected to host the UN-sponsored annual GAID assembly in 2011, thus giving the country' s individuals, companies and associations a chance to present projects and benefits of investing in the sector, reads the press release.
