Promotion of anthology "Contemporary Macedonian Drama" in Russian language

Skopje, 15 July 2010 (MIA) - Anthology "Contemporary Macedonian Drama", compiled by Macedonian language expert Olga Pankina from Moscow was promoted in the Macedonian Writers' Association (MWA) on Thursday.

The anthology represents a collection of eight dramas by Macedonian authors translated in Russian language.

According to Pankina, the anthology should bring Macedonian drama closer to Russian readers.

"I hope Russian theatre activists will show interest to set some of the pieces at the Russian stage", added Pankina.

MWA Assembly chairman Vele Smilevski stressed the event turned the attention to the affirmation of Macedonian literature.

According to him, Pankina is one of ambassadors promoting Macedonian literature and culture worldwide.

The anthology encompasses dramas by authors Kole Casule, Goran Stefanovski, Jordan Plevnes, Tomislav Osmanli, Venko Andonovski, Sasko Nasev, Zanina Mircevska and Dejan Dukovski.

"Contemporary Macedonian Drama" is the second book of Pankina's edition titled "Library of Contemporary Macedonian Literature". The first book titled "Short Stories", promoted in 2009, included 50 Macedonian storytellers.
