Largest H1N1 flu virus outbreak by end of summer

Belgrade, July 2 (MIA) - Experts expect Serbia to be hit by largest outbreak of A/ H1N1 flu virus by end of summer, Belgrade-based daily Blic reads, adding that preparations have already begun in fight against possible mass spread of disease in the country.

Daily reads that specially trained teams of doctors that will help the epidemiologists, will be deployed in every Serbian area.

Representative of the working group for pandemic flu Branislav Todorovic told daily that the doctors in these teams will be engaged on voluntary basis and they are to be organised at late by September.

- Luckily current weather conditions are not suitable for the flu virus to survive. Virus is not stable at moist air with high temperatures. On high temperatures the flu is inactive. At the moment Australia is mostly threatened because it is winter and virus is stable at best temperatures - around 0C, Todorovic said.

There have been 15 cases of swine flu in Serbia until so far. One third of patients have already completely recovered.
