Kaliopi takes Macedonia to Eurovision final

Skopje, 25 May 2012 (MIA) - Following a five-year hiatus, Kaliopi with her song "Black and White" qualified as a Macedonian representative for final show of the 57th Eurovision Song Contest, which is held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.

Other countries advancing to the Eurovision finals on Saturday included Norway, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Ukraine, Sweden, Estonia, Malta and Turkey.

Iceland, Greece, Albania, Romania, Cyprus, Denmark, Russia, Hungary, Moldova and Ireland qualified for the finals in Tuesday's semi-final.

Six countries enter the final show automatically: Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain and Italy as well as last year's winner and this year's host, Azerbaijan.

Macedonia hasn't been in the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest since 2007, when it was represented by Karolina Goceva in Helsinki, Finland.
