Serbia aggressive towards Kosovo, says FM Hoxhaj

Pristina, 1 December 2016 (MIA) - Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, during an interview with daily Zeri said that Serbia is becoming more aggressive towards Kosovo. According to him, northern neighbor is against almost every presence of Kosovo in international meetings.

Foreign Minister said that non-recognition of Kosovo by five EU member countries is not an obstacle for the EU to lift visas for Kosovo citizens. He said that four out of five EU-non recognizers have already recognized Kosovo’s passport, a process which, as Hoxhaj said, helps visa liberalization.

“Non-recognition of Kosovo’s independence by these countries was never a problem when it comes to visa liberalization. On the contrary, fulfillment of internal criteria is the EU condition for Kosovo,” in order for its citizens to move freely without visas, said Hoxhaj.

When speaking about relations with Serbia, Hoxhaj said that their officials are becoming more aggressive when it comes to Kosovo’s representation in international meetings. He also said that Kosovo’s access in the EU programs, is a new approach of Kosovo’s politics towards the EU integration process.
