Forbes promotes Macedonia as one of top 20 European scenic drives
Skopje, January 31 (MIA) - Macedonia has been selected as one of the most attractive destinations in Europe by the world's leading business magazine. The route from Prespa to Ohrid via Mountain Galicica in Macedonia was recommended Thursday to readers of the Forbes website as one of the top 20 scenic drives in Europe.
The magazine asked various experts to provide suggestions for their favorite routes. The Macedonian route was suggested by Christopher Deliso, travel writer for Lonely Planet and author of a new travelogue about Macedonia (Hidden Macedonia), who also proposed one route in Bulgaria and one on the Greek island of Crete to Forbes' readers.
According to the Forbes.com article, "Deliso recommends the journey from Prespa to Ohrid Lake, along narrow, windy roads that take you past apple orchards and a bird sanctuary round Prespa Lake and then up into the Galicica Mountain, and through the high Livada Pass. A short walk up a nearby hill here offers views of both Prespa and Ohrid Lakes simultaneously.
