Kosovo has not registered a single ISIS recruit in a year

Pristina, 26 August 2016 (MIA) - Interior Minister Skender Hasani said that the security services have not registered a single Kosovan citizen to have left to join the Islamic State in the period of a year. More than 300 people from Kosovo, which is a mainly Muslim country, are believed to have radicalized and left to fight in the Middle East in the past years.

"For a year we have no cases of people living to join a foreign war. But, this does not mean that the institutions should relax", said Hasani.

Some 70 Kosovans are believed to still reside and fight in the Middle East. As with other Balkan countries, Kosovo declared joining a foreign war to be a crime, and began a crackdown on recruitment groups and mosques that radicalize young men.
