Bulgaria to reach EU's 2011 GDP in 2091: professor

Sofia, 17 August 2014 (MIA) - Bulgaria would reach EU's 2011 average GDP in 2091 if it maintained the current tempo of two percent annual growth, said professor Boyan Durankev on Sunday while presenting the Charter for Free, Just and Solidary Bulgaria.

According to him, the system in Bulgaria must be changed, since it is "rotten, corrupt and atrophied", BTA reports.

"Bulgaria does not follow the European and world tendencies and has no long-term development strategy", stresses Durankev, adding the system works only in the interest of a handful of people.

He stressed the Charter, signed by intellectuals from numerous fields, is aimed towards all those "who do not want to see the same political players claiming that justice is impossible and people should accept the misery they live in". ik/13:39
