Serbia: Over 700 people under surveillance over Ebola disease suspicion

Belgrade, 9 October 2014 (MIA) - The Ministry of Health of Serbia announced that 708 people have been placed under surveillance because of suspicion of Ebola virus, local media reported on Thursday.

Among them are 92 people who traveled to the countries affected by the Ebola epidemic. Clinics in Belgrade, Nis, and Novi Sad have been designated as facilities that will treat possible Ebola patients. 

“Considering the development of the epidemiologic situation of Ebola virus in the world and complying with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) we have taken all precautious measures to prevent spread of the disease in Serbia,” the Ministry said.
