Turkish President Erdogan voices criticism over Iranian gas prices

Tehran, 7 April 2015 (MIA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced criticism over Iranian gas prices during his visit to Tehran on Tuesday.

"We buy 95 percent of Iran's gas exports, but we get the most expensive gas when looking at its price. If this price were reduced, we would increase the amount of gas that we would buy… We are buying the most expensive gas from Iran, we don't want to be at this level. We need to take [this price to] an appropriate level," Erdogan said during a joint press conference with Iranian President Hasan Rouhani.

He also called for expanding air links to medium-sized cities in Iran, and for an increase in electricity imports, as is already the case for several Turkish provinces.

During the visit, eight documents, particularly in the areas of transport, customs, industry and health were signed.
