Turkish Stream may run through Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary - energy minister

Moscow, 14 April 2015 (MIA) - The Turkish Stream gas pipeline to deliver Russian gas to Turkey and southern Europe may be extended to Austria through Greece, Macedonia, Serbia and Hungary, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Tuesday.

"I know that many countries are interested in the project. For example, a route to deliver gas to Austria’s Baumgartner [gas hub] via Greece, Macedonia, Serbia and Hungary is possible," he said.

Russia conducts intense negotiations with the countries that could become transit nations, Novak added.

According to B92, Novak is set to visit Serbia in late April or early May and his talks with Serbian authorities are expected to also address an extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
